Pathos

Emotion surges as art’s excess,

spiraling beyond all symbols.

It resists language,

evades any system,

yet it reverberates deep within the body.

It situates you, unravels you for a moment,

lifting you into resonance.

It attunes your perception,

cultivating a way of seeing,

a subtle sensitivity in how you engage with objects and space.

That breath which defies logic

shapes your movement,

transforming you into a living conduit for emotion.

It cannot be dissolved,

yet it flows as art’s most fluid expression.

Through expressing and feeling it,

we realize our entanglement with the world and all living beings.

The breath of collective will

courses through the depths of our souls.

What does the emotion we seek contain?

It does not take a fixed “form,”

but structures, enacts,

struggles through body and mind.

Art brings us into the encounter with it.

It embodies waste and core,

excess and necessity.

Emotion transcends words; 

it gathers in the space we open
